Taiwo and Kehinde; the duo which makes up The Okunoren Twins was born in 1983 in Lagos Nigeria, to Kunle and Abiola Okunoren. Their mother, Abiola was a fashion designer and drawing inspiration from her in addition to the demand for English dressing which was prevalent in the 80s, the twins entered the fashion industry at the young age of 19.

To eradicate the problem of ill-fitting badly tailored suits, the boys were inspired to make custom-made suits for their clients who wanted their clothes made to size, making them pioneer makers of bespoke suits for the average Nigerian at a time the Nigerian fashion industry was still at infancy.

The Okunoren twins are adjudged to be Nigeria’s first child suit-makers and also the first fashion duo. They started their fashion label, “Okunoren Twins” in 2002 and have made giant strides in the Nigerian fashion scene since, becoming well known for their design of distinct, well-constructed and perfectly engineered suits for the Nigerian market. They combine Tweed, Wool and sometimes African patterns into one perfect fusion.

In 2007, they were nominated in the “Entrepreneur of the Year (Beauty & Style)” category of the future awards and in 2012, they debuted at the Arise Fashion week where they showcased their collection of bespoke tailoring.
